DJ Neva Deelay – Biography
Neva Deelay (Dijle Neva YiÄŸitbaÅŸ) is a Stockholm-based DJ, percussionist, and music producer with a career that began in 1996, when she started DJing with cassette tapes at live music venues in central Stockholm. Her early sets evolved from weddings to club scenes, eventually incorporating her main instrument – the darbuka – into her performances, blending rhythm with electronic soundscapes.
In 2007, she joined artist Mapei on international tours, and by 2010 she began producing her own beats and remixes using Ableton Live. Her sets today move fluidly between global bass, techno, Afro rhythms, and experimental club music, with live percussion as a central element.
Neva Deelay has opened for Major Lazer, Diplo, Mykki Blanco, Mapei, Timbuktu & DAMN!, and played b2b with Issatrinity, Jahanam, Ramadonna, and Diva Cruz. She has performed at major stages and festivals including Moderna Museet (Maria Decida Wahlberg’s A Tribute to Jean Paul Gaultier), Roskilde, Hultsfred, Way Out West, Peace & Love, Gagnef, Smash Festival, Black Forest, Gröna Lund, Liseberg, and Parkteatern.
