Meditation of Awareness

For my first-year work, I created a spatial installation with handmade stools, a globe, and a composed soundscape. The stools were placed at different heights, offering different ways of inhabiting the space. From the stools, the gaze was drawn towards the globe, positioned as the focal point of the installation.
The globe rotated slowly and almost imperceptibly. By remaining with it, subtle shifts could be noticed. Light and shadows moving across its surface drew the viewer in, creating a sense of stillness and concentration.
Once a day, the space was activated through a live sound performance using pedals. The sound functioned both as a disruption and as a signal to return.
The installation explored the transition between stillness and disruption, and how change can emerge through remaining present.
